Fields of Mistria Mods Guide
Back up your save and verify the exact game version before installing any mod. Engine and 1.0 updates have broken compatibility before, so a popular old mod is not automatically a safe current mod.
Install MOMI first
- Download Mods of Mistria Installer from its maintained GitHub or linked release source.
- Follow the installer instructions for your Steam installation.
- Add one mod at a time and start the game between additions.
- Keep a record of mod versions so a broken loadout can be reproduced or rolled back.
Patch-day checklist
- Disable mods before the first launch after a large update.
- Read the mod author's current compatibility notes, not only the upload date.
- Update MOMI and dependencies before content mods.
- Restore from a pre-mod backup if a save behaves unexpectedly.
- Report reproducible issues to the mod author only after testing without other mods.
Multiplayer is a special case
The community multiplayer mod also runs a relay and changes save/world interactions. Read the multiplayer status page before treating it like a normal cosmetic mod.
